As a freshman in university (Feb-May 2023), I joined a multidisciplinary team of scientists from Columbia Engineering and Columbia Medical Center working on a growth-accommodating heart valved conduit, which would eliminate the risks associated with valve replacement surgeries. My efforts primarily involved conducting tensile strength tests on polymeric materials and working on the balloon dilation setup for the trileaflet conduit.
